Easter 2012

Easter is approaching, and we are eagerly anticipating the joyous celebration at our church. Our prayer is that we could share Easter with you! Please know that you are invited to any of our events. If you have any questions about any of the services or activities, please contact our office for more information.

1) Holy Thursday Service (April 5th). Also called Maundy Thursday, this is the night we recall Jesus' final meal with his disciples. On this night he shared a meal with them, washed their feet and gave them a "new commandment," to love each other as he had loved them. That message is just as important and relevant for us today.

The service begins at 7pm and includes Holy Communion and Foot Washing. These two elements of the service are voluntary; no one is going to make you participate.  Both are, however, meaningful parts of our worship together.

 2) Good Friday Service (April 6th). On Good Friday we remember the death of Jesus. His death was real, and he suffered much. Our spiritual well-being and salvation came at a great price. This service begins at 7pm.

 3) Each year we host a community wide Easter egg hunt. This year we are hiding over 2,500 eggs for the children to find. Well, finding them isn't very hard, but it is sure fun to watch them! The fun begins on Saturday, April 7th at 9:30 am and is free to everyone.

 4) Easter sunrise service (April 8th). At 7am on Easter morning, we will gather outside under the oak trees to remember the first Easter morning. Afterwards, we are planning to eat breakfast together. There will be no Sunday School classes that day.

5) Finally, at 10:45, our regularly scheduled worship service will help us to finish our celebration.
