What God’s Love for Us Does Mean

(Questions, Understandings, Insights, Perceptions [and] Stories)

John 20: 1-18

In approaching Holy Week, finally reaching Easter, we are reminded to ponder the most Holy, awe inspiring time in Creation.  “When Sunday comes,” what will you be thinking?  “When Sunday comes,” what will our hearts be thinking? “When Sunday comes,” what will our church be thinking?
We have journeyed through Lent, are entering Holy Week (Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and other Easter activities), now we anticipate Resurrection Sunday – but it is not quite here yet.  Our Lenten Journey offered us a time of “fasting,” reflection, and self-examination, devotion; a time to consider our relationship with God, Self and others.  We had the time to consider God’s Love for us, reflect on our “sin,” to accept and offer forgiveness to Self and others, to be thankful to our Grace extending God, and reflect more on what God’s Love for us does mean.

The Lenten Journey is so much more than abstaining, adding to or sharing in a mission project.  The Lenten Journey also prepares our hearts Easter!
Easter – Triumph after Our Lord cried; “It is Finished!” Easter – Resurrection! Easter – Restoration! Easter – Jubilation! Easter, when we can begin a new journey that embraces the old being “finished,” but also a time we embrace new beginnings – with Christ’s Risen Power empowering us for God’s purpose! Easter, a time when we may say; “Father, into Your hands, I commit my spirit.”

Resurrection Restoration and Blessings this Easter Season,
Pastor Katie
